MY PROCESS

For these designs, I used a process I call “Photo Stenciling”, in which I take a photo I have taken, or a picture I drew, and open it up in Adobe Photoshop. In Photoshop, I select certain color ratios in portions of the image, purposefully making the selected area appear choppy or coarse. Once the selections are made, I paint over them using solid and simple colors. The desired effect is something along the lines of spray-painting through stencils. I try to maintain no more than three total colors per design:

For example, let’s look at the black Sakura Tree T-shirt.

·         Background (Main Color) - Black

·         Secondary Color (Tree and Trim) - White

·         Accent Color (Petals) - Pink

All of these designs were made using this technique, but it can be seen in some of my other designs.
